Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs 2011
฿3,859
Louis Roederer's Blanc de Blancs is one of the few vintage Champagnes sourced entirely from the house's own estate parcels — a grower-like discipline almost unheard of at this production scale. Every bottle traces back to Grand Cru Chardonnay grown exclusively on the limestone mid-slopes of Cramant and Avize on the Côte des Blancs, where thin clay-loam topsoil over pure chalk bedrock forces deep root penetration, concentrating mineral tension and citrus precision into the fruit. Chef de Cave Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon vinifies each parcel separately in small stainless-steel tanks, preserving individual plot character before blending. The 2011 spent 5 years on lees followed by 6 months post-disgorgement — the longest lees regime of any non-prestige Roederer cuvée — building autolytic complexity without erasing the chalk signature. Unlike the Brut Vintage, this expression uses 100% Chardonnay with no Pinot Noir, making it the purest expression of Côte des Blancs terroir in the Roederer range. The 2011 vintage delivered ripe, generous fruit with good natural structure; at this lees age, the wine has moved into a toasty, textured mid-life phase with the chalk-driven tension still intact — drink now through 2026.
