Louis Roederer Brut Premier (375 ml)
฿2,870
When Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Chef de Cave at Louis Roederer, chose to vinify each of the house's 410+ individual parcels separately — in small stainless-steel tanks or oak vats sized to just one or two hectares — he was applying a grower's logic to a maison producing millions of bottles. That discipline is what separates Brut Premier (now Collection) from the field. The blend draws on 50+ villages across Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs, where shallow chalk topsoil over pure chalk bedrock drives the house's signature mineral tension. Soils at mid-slope positions ensure drainage that concentrates dry extract without sacrificing freshness. The assemblage runs ~40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier, with roughly 20% reserve wines aged in 150+ used oak barrels — a proportion that builds textural complexity and cross-vintage consistency. Minimum 3 years on lees followed by 6 months post-disgorgement, with dosage at ~9 g/L. What no peer at this production scale routinely does: parcel-by-parcel vinification combined with multi-year barrel-aged reserves, giving a non-vintage Champagne the structural layering of a vintage wine. As a non-vintage expression, this is ready on release and will hold comfortably for 3–5 years from disgorgement.
