Château Sérilhan occupies a gravelly plateau in the northern reaches of Saint-Estèphe, where deep Günz gravel over clay subsoil defines the terroir's mineral spine and drainage character. The 2015 vintage assembles Cabernet Sauvignon as the dominant varietal, with Merlot and Petit Verdot in supporting roles, a structure typical of Left Bank Médoc estates. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled concrete vats, followed by 18 months in French oak (approximately 40% new), allowing the wine to develop secondary complexity while preserving primary fruit definition. The 2015 growing season in Bordeaux delivered ripe conditions with moderate yields, producing wines of solid concentration without excessive extraction. Saint-Estèphe's cooler microclimate and clay-rich soils naturally favor structured, age-worthy expressions over immediate opulence.
