Château Ferrière occupies a south-facing gravel plateau in the heart of Margaux, where Günz-era pebbles over clay subsoil define the terroir. The 2013 vintage—now entering its secondary phase—reflects a cooler growing season that extended ripening and preserved acidity across the Left Bank.

The blend follows classical Margaux proportions: Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, with Merlot and Petit Verdot completing the structure. Fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats and 18 months in French oak (roughly 50% new) built the wine's mid-palate density without overwhelming the site's natural elegance. The 2013 vintage, initially austere, has softened into a wine where tannin integration is now visible.

Ferrière remains one of Margaux's most understated classified growths—a property that prioritizes site expression over extraction. The 2013 drinks well now, with another 8–12 years of development ahead.
