About Grgich hills zinfandel

We co-fermented the Zinfandel witha touch of Petite Sirah to add complexity and
structure, and then aged the wine in large oak casks so the flavors are well integrated but not overwhelmed by oak. This food-friendly Zinfandel’s pure flavors of strawberries, raspberries, and a hint of white pepper make it the perfect match for grilled meats, lasagna,pizza topped with tomato sauce and beef stews.

Tasting Notes

Dark purple-black in glass. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of kirsch, raspberries and licorice. Medium-bodied on the palate, with low-to-medium acidity, medium ripe tannins and flavors which mirror the nose. The middle is a bit thin, but the mouth texture compensates with its silkiness. The finish is medium in length and fairly smooth. Food pairing grilled meats, pizza and pastas with tomato sauce.
