A Bordeaux-style blend of roughly 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc from the Bolgheri coast of Tuscany, grown on rocky, clay-rich soils near Ornellaia and Sassicaia. The style is rich and polished, with mocha, espresso, dark cherry and plum fruit, sweet spice, tobacco and graphite notes, and ripe, well-integrated tannins typical of the modern Super Tuscan idiom.

Orma's vineyard sits between two of Bolgheri's most iconic estates, Ornellaia and Sassicaia, on a relatively small 7.5-hectare parcel producing around 40,000 bottles a year — a boutique scale within a zone famous for cult-status Super Tuscans.

Producer history

Orma was founded in 2004 by Antonio Moretti Cuseri, whose family had built its winemaking reputation at the historic Tenuta Sette Ponti estate in Castiglion Fibocchi (itself established in the 1950s by Antonio's father, architect Alberto Moretti) with the acclaimed Bordeaux-blend wine Oreno. Drawn to Bolgheri's coastal terroir, Antonio brought that expertise in Cabernet and Merlot to the Tuscan coast to create Orma, a venture he later pursued alongside his sons Alberto and Amedeo.

Orma by Tenuta Sette Ponti is a Bolgheri IGT red wine crafted from a Bordeaux-inspired blend: 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc. This medium-full-bodied wine delivers ripe dark plum and blackcurrant on the nose, with supporting cedar and spice from careful oak aging. The palate shows structured tannins and a dry finish with hints of tobacco and leather—hallmarks of Tuscan Super Tuscan style. Ideal for grilled red meats, braised beef dishes, and aged cheeses.
