Finally, this renowned terroir on the famed south-facing Côte Pavie is living up to its great potential. The so-called “dream team” of Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt has again turned out a beautiful wine from a blend of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. The aromatic’s nobility and complexity confirm this vineyard’s potential. Aromas of cedar, spice box, black cherries, currants, and licorice jump from the glass of the dense ruby/purple-hued 2004. With supple texture, sweet tannin, medium to full body, and no hard edges, this beauty will drink well for 12-15+ years.
