Gerard Bertrand Art de Vivre Languedoc AOP (Grenache Syrah Cinsault)
฿1,200
Gérard Bertrand formally founded his wine company in 1992, but the more consequential decision came in 2002 when he began converting all estates to Demeter-certified biodynamics — a commitment that now spans over 900 hectares across 17 Languedoc-Roussillon properties, making him the world's largest biodynamic wine producer by certified area. Art de Vivre draws on that network, with Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault sourced from warm Mediterranean terroir where strong coastal winds reduce disease pressure and limestone-dominant soils drive mineral tension in the fruit. The rosé is produced by the saignée method, fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, and deliberately held back from malolactic fermentation — a choice that preserves the natural tartaric acidity and keeps the palate taut rather than creamy. Every stage of production, from harvest date to bottling, is governed by the biodynamic lunar calendar. What sets this cuvée apart within the Bertrand portfolio is its accessibility: the same Demeter-certified farming philosophy applied to prestige cuvées like Clos du Temple is present here at a fraction of the price, with zero chemical inputs across the entire growing cycle. The current vintage reflects the warm, sun-driven character typical of southern Languedoc — expect concentrated Provençal fruit with the freshness that no-malolactic stainless-steel vinification delivers.
