Boutique-y Blended Malt #1 24 Year Old - Batch 8 (500 ml)
฿7,629
When Ben Ellefsen launched That Boutique-y Whisky Company in September 2012, the debut four releases included both living legends and long-closed distilleries — a deliberate signal that age and rarity would be treated with equal rigour, not reverence. That founding philosophy underpins every cask selection made by Head of Whisky Sam Simmons, and it is precisely what defines this 24 Year Old Blended Malt, Batch 8.
As a pure independent bottler with no owned warehouses, TBWC's entire value proposition rests on cask selection: malts from multiple Scottish distilleries, matured in casks at source — most likely ex-bourbon American oak given the age profile and blended malt classification, though the specific cask regime is determined entirely by the contributing distilleries. Twenty-four years of slow oxidation in oak at Scottish ambient temperatures typically drives deep integration of wood sugars, dried fruit concentration, and a reduction of sharper spirit esters.
Bottled without artificial colouring and without chill filtration — a non-negotiable house standard applied across every TBWC release — the whisky retains its full texture and natural haze-forming congeners. Batch 8 sits within a production run of approximately 1,000 bottles, making each batch a genuinely finite proposition. The special feature here is structural: a 24-year blended malt at this price point, from an independent bottler that applies single-malt-grade bottling discipline to every expression in its range, is a category anomaly.
