Black Ruby applies that architecture to a ruby-cask finishing layer over the standard Black Label base, drawing on approximately 40 malt and grain whiskies all aged a minimum of 12 years. The structural spine remains the house trilogy: Cardhu (Speyside) for honeyed fruit-forward sweetness, Caol Ila (Islay) for clean maritime peat, and Clynelish (Highland) for waxy coastal depth — a combination architecturally impossible for any single-region producer to replicate.
