The Glenturret 12 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700 ml)

When Lalique Group acquired Glenturret in March 2019, its first act was to sever the distillery's decades-long role as the backbone malt of The Famous Grouse — a deliberate identity break that redirected every drop toward a standalone single malt range. That decision now defines the 12 Year Old entirely.

The distillery sits in the sheltered 'Hosh' glen on the Turret Burn, Perthshire, fed by process water piped exclusively from Loch Turret — a Grampian Mountain reservoir draining Ben Chonzie's granite catchment. That exceptionally soft water shapes fermentation character from the first steep.

Production runs through one of Scotland's smallest still pairs: a 12,500-litre wash still and a 9,000-litre spirit still fitted with a reflux bowl, which extends copper contact and drives the house's characteristically light, fruit-forward new make. Fermentation runs ~48 hours in traditional pine washbacks; only the middle cut is retained. The 12 Year Old matures in American oak sherry-seasoned casks across six on-site dunnage warehouses holding up to 10,000 casks.

What no Highland peer replicates: a reflux-bowl pot still producing a delicate, high-ester spirit aged exclusively in American oak sherry wood — yielding tropical fruit over the dried-fruit density typical of European oak sherried malts. Non-vintage, small-batch; subtle variation between releases is inherent to the format.
