The result draws on malt contributors spanning the full Scottish compass: Cardhu (Speyside) for honeyed fruit at the core, Caol Ila (Islay) for clean maritime peat, Clynelish (Highland) for waxy coastal depth, with occasional parcels from permanently closed 'ghost' distilleries — Brora and Port Ellen among them — surfacing in select batches. Maturation runs across ex-bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry European oak casks; the precise split remains a trade secret, but the interplay of vanilla-rich bourbon wood against dried-fruit Sherry influence is the structural engine of Blue Label's depth.
