Johnnie Walker Blue Label Chinese New Year Of The Rabbit (750 ml)
฿9,505
When John Walker opened his Kilmarnock grocery in 1820, his tea-trade instinct — that blending across origins eliminates batch variation — became the founding logic of what would eventually produce Blue Label: a tier so selective that only 1 in every 10,000 casks in Diageo's reserve of approximately 10 million barrels qualifies for inclusion. This Chinese New Year of the Rabbit edition carries that same hand-selected liquid inside a commemorative release, making it simultaneously a collector's object and a serious whisky. The blend draws from Diageo's pan-Scotland network: Cardhu (Speyside) supplies honeyed fruit as the structural heart; Caol Ila (Islay) threads clean maritime peat smoke through the mid-palate; and Clynelish (Highland) contributes its characteristic waxy coastal depth — a combination architecturally impossible for any single-region producer to replicate. Maturation relies on ex-bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry European oak casks, with exact proportions an undisclosed trade secret, and the whisky is bottled at 40% ABV, chill-filtered. What separates Blue Label categorically from every other expression in the Walker range is the periodic inclusion of whisky from permanently silent ghost distilleries — Brora and Port Ellen among them — making certain batches one of the only commercially available routes to those lost distillery characters. No age statement applies; the selection criterion is rarity of cask, not age.
