Johnnie Walker & Son King George V Chinese New Year Edition (750 ml)
฿24,999
John Walker opened his Kilmarnock grocery in 1820 drawing on tea-trade logic: blend across origins to eliminate variation, a principle that now governs one of the world's most complex cask libraries — approximately 10 million casks held across Diageo's Scottish network. The King George V expression sits at the apex of that library, a tier above Blue Label, drawing on hand-selected rare casks from Diageo's portfolio of malt and grain distilleries spanning Speyside, Highland, Islay, and Lowland Scotland — the only commercial blend architecture that can simultaneously deploy Cardhu's honeyed Speyside sweetness, Caol Ila's clean maritime peat, and Clynelish's waxy Highland coastal depth in a single pour. Blending and bottling are executed at Leven, Fife, with each contributing cask individually analyzed and approved before selection — a qualification rate that, at the Blue Label tier and above, reaches only 1 in 10,000 casks. What separates King George V from the standard luxury tier is its deliberate inclusion of whiskies distilled under pre-war production methods, connecting the liquid to a period of Scottish distilling that no longer exists at scale. This Chinese New Year limited edition presents that same rare-cask architecture in a collector's format, making it simultaneously a drinking and display object of documented provenance.
