Tamnavulin Double Cask Speyside single Malt Scotch Whisky (700 ml)
฿1,299
Tamnavulin distillery sits on the banks of the River Livet in the heart of Speyside, a location that has shaped its characteristically soft, approachable house style since the distillery was founded in 1966. The name itself derives from the Gaelic for 'mill on the hill,' a nod to the old wool mill whose water source the distillery originally shared.
The Double Cask expression is built on a deliberate two-cask maturation strategy: ex-bourbon American oak barrels lay down the foundation of vanilla and ripe stone fruit, while a secondary maturation in ex-sherry casks adds dried fruit depth and a gentle spice. This layering approach — rather than a single-cask finish — is the defining production signature of the expression.
What sets Double Cask apart within the entry-level Speyside category is its explicit dual-wood architecture at a price point where most competitors rely on a single cask type. The result is a malt that carries sherry-influenced dried fruit alongside bourbon-derived sweetness without either character overwhelming the other. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is non-chill-filtered information is not confirmed, so drinkers should verify on label. A consistent, year-round non-vintage release suited to immediate drinking.
