Johnnie Walker Black Label (3 L)
฿5,999
When John Walker opened his Kilmarnock grocery in 1820, his tea-blending instinct — that combining sources eliminates batch variation — became the founding logic of modern blended Scotch. Black Label is where that logic reaches its most deliberate expression: approximately 40 malt and grain whiskies, every component aged a minimum of 12 years, assembled to thread smoke, sweetness, and coastal wax in equal measure. Cardhu (Speyside) anchors the blend with honeyed, orchard-fruit sweetness drawn from the Walker family's own distillery, acquired in 1893; Caol Ila (Islay) introduces clean maritime peat smoke — the kind that registers as saline and mineral rather than medicinal; Clynelish (Highland) adds a distinctive waxy, coastal depth that no Speyside-only blend can replicate. Maturation runs in ex-bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry European oak casks, with the precise split undisclosed, before chill-filtration and bottling at 40% ABV at Diageo's Leven, Fife facility. The special feature here is architectural: Black Label is one of the only expressions at this price tier where a Highland waxy distillate (Clynelish), an Islay maritime peat source (Caol Ila), and a Speyside fruit core (Cardhu) are held in deliberate equilibrium across every batch — a pan-Scotland construction no single-region producer can replicate. The 3-litre format is the same liquid, same blend integrity, scaled for volume.
