John Walker & Sons Odyssey (700 ml)
฿39,899
John Walker's founding insight in 1820 Kilmarnock was borrowed directly from tea merchants: blending across origins and seasons eliminates batch variation — a transgression against the single-malt orthodoxy of his era that ultimately built the world's most recognised Scotch house. The John Walker & Sons tier represents the apex of that philosophy, with master blender Dr. Emma Walker — the first woman to hold the role in the brand's 200-year history — hand-selecting from a reserve of approximately 10 million casks held across Diageo's distillery network spanning Speyside, Highland, Islay, and Lowland Scotland.
The Odyssey draws on the house's three structural pillars: Cardhu (Speyside) for honeyed, fruit-forward sweetness; Caol Ila (Islay) for clean maritime peat; and Clynelish (Highland) for waxy coastal depth — a combination architecturally impossible for any single-region producer to replicate. Maturation proceeds in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry European oak casks, with the precise split undisclosed at this tier. What distinguishes the John Walker & Sons expressions from the standard range is the cask selection threshold: only the rarest parcels, evaluated individually by the blending team, qualify for inclusion — a standard that, in Blue Label terms, accepts fewer than one in 10,000 casks.
