Provenance Auchentoshan 13 Years (Lowland) (700 ml)
฿4,469
Douglas Laing & Co., founded in Glasgow in 1948, built the Provenance range as a deliberate transparency exercise: every label prints the source distillery, cask number, cask type, and both distillation and bottling dates — a direct rebuke to the opacity that defines most blended Scotch. This Auchentoshan 13 Year is drawn from a single refill hogshead, the ex-bourbon cooperage that defines the range's house approach to wood. Refill wood is the operative choice here — no new oak, no first-fill sherry influence — meaning 13 years of maturation adds texture and integration without masking Auchentoshan's Lowland signature. Non-chill-filtered, no added colouring, bottled at 46% ABV minimum, the spirit retains the natural fatty acids and esters that chill-filtration would strip. What makes this expression unusual within its category is Auchentoshan's triple distillation protocol — rare in Scotch outside this single Lowland distillery — which produces a lighter, higher-cut new-make that, after 13 years in refill wood, resolves into a distinctly delicate but texturally complete whisky. Yield is limited to the contents of one cask, typically 300–850 bottles, making this a non-repeatable snapshot of one moment at one distillery.
