That coastal influence — rather than the heavy peat smoke associated with southern Islay — defines the house character here: briny, nutty, and malt-forward. Matured in a single refill hogshead (ex-bourbon), the used wood allows Bunnahabhain's unpeated malt to speak without oak domination, preserving the distillery's natural saline and dried-fruit register.
