Pancho Villa Gold Tequila is produced in the Tequila Valley of Jalisco, the heartland of blue Weber agave cultivation, where volcanic red clay soils and elevations around 1,200 metres concentrate sugars in the piña. The Tequila Valley's warmer, lower-altitude microclimate versus the Highlands yields agave with earthier, more herbaceous character compared to the sweeter Los Altos profile.
As a gold (joven) tequila, this expression blends unaged blanco spirit with a small proportion of aged tequila or permitted additives — caramel coloring, oak extract, or glycerin — to achieve its amber hue and softened texture without full barrel maturation. The base spirit is distilled from cooked agave in column or pot stills to the legally required minimum 38% ABV.
