Reserva de la Familia (700 ml)
฿฿฿
Jose Cuervo's lineage in Tequila, Jalisco traces to 1758, making it the region's oldest continuously operating distillery. Reserva de la Familia represents the house's premium tier, sourced from mature blue agave in the volcanic soils surrounding the town of Tequila at moderate elevation.
Production specifics: The spirit undergoes aging in French oak casks for a minimum of three years, a regime that distinguishes it within the añejo category. The extended wood contact imparts vanilla, caramel, and subtle spice notes while tempering raw agave character. The distillery employs traditional copper pot stills, maintaining continuity with 18th-century technique.
Special character: Unlike many mass-market añejos, Reserva de la Familia retains measurable agave minerality beneath oak influence—a signature of the house's commitment to spirit-forward aging rather than wood dominance. The result sits between classical reposado brightness and heavily oaked expressions.
Drinking window: 2024–2028. Serve neat or with a single large ice cube to allow the oak-agave interplay to unfold.
