Old Tom Gin (700 ml)

Old Tom gin is the missing link between malty 18th-century genever and the bone-dry London Dry style, and Langley's revival of it is rooted in the working-class distilling heritage of the Black Country. The Langley Distillery in Oldbury, West Midlands — not London, despite the brand name — has operated continuously since the 1880s, making it one of England's oldest functioning gin distilleries.

Distilled in traditional copper pot stills, Langley's Old Tom is bottled at 47% ABV, higher than most Old Tom expressions on the market, which preserves botanical intensity through the added sweetness. The recipe draws on a classic juniper-forward botanical basket, with the characteristic light sweetening that defines the Old Tom category — bridging the gap between gin and liqueur without tipping into either.

What sets this expression apart is its dual utility: historically the base spirit for a Tom Collins or Martinez cocktail, it also functions as a sipping gin, where the sweetness rounds the juniper and softens the botanical edges. The 47% bottling strength makes it unusually robust for the style.
