Gin (700 ml)

Buss 101 originates from Hasselt, Belgium's historic distilling heartland in Limburg, where grain-to-spirit production has anchored the region's identity since the 17th century. The distillery sources local cereal grains as its neutral spirit base, establishing terroir through raw material rather than water source alone.
Production employs copper pot distillation with a defined botanical maceration protocol: juniper berry forms the aromatic anchor, supported by rye grain spice, coriander seed, and regional botanicals. The spirit reaches 101 proof (50.5% ABV)—a deliberate nod to classic London Dry intensity without the geographic claim. Distillation occurs in traditional copper stills, with no cask aging; the gin is bottled at full proof to preserve volatile aromatic compounds.
The special feature lies in its rye-forward grain character—uncommon in contemporary gin production, which typically emphasizes neutral grain spirit. This choice creates a drier, spicier profile than juniper-led competitors, anchoring the botanical blend in cereal sweetness rather than botanical abstraction.
Buss 101 represents contemporary Belgian craft distilling: technically rigorous, regionally rooted, and deliberately transgressive in its proof and grain selection.
