Norwegian Small Batch Gin (750 ml)
฿฿
Harahorn takes its name from the Norwegian hare — a nod to the wild, foraged character that defines this Bergen distillery's philosophy. Founded in Hordaland on Norway's rugged southwestern coast, the gin draws its botanical identity from the surrounding sub-arctic landscape rather than the Mediterranean herb gardens that anchor most London Dry expressions.
The site matters: Bergen sits at the edge of the North Sea, where cold, clean Atlantic air and low-latitude growing conditions concentrate aromatic compounds in wild botanicals. Arctic cloudberries — harvested from Norwegian highland bogs — form the signature botanical alongside locally sourced juniper berries, giving the spirit a tartly fruited, resinous core that diverges sharply from citrus-forward Nordic peers.
Produced in small batches in a copper pot still, the gin is bottled at 46% ABV and released without chill-filtration, preserving the full range of aromatic oils extracted during distillation. The botanical bill also includes a selection of traditional gin botanicals, though the cloudberry-juniper axis remains the defining axis.
What sets Harahorn apart within the Nordic gin category is the deliberate use of cloudberry — a fruit so geographically restricted it cannot be commercially farmed at scale — as a primary rather than accent botanical, making the sourcing itself a production constraint.
