Beefeater London Dry Gin (750 ml)

Beefeater has been distilled at its Kennington, South London distillery — one of the last working gin distilleries within Greater London — making it the only major London Dry Gin still produced in the city that names the style. Master Distiller Desmond Payne, who held the role for over two decades, codified the house method around a deliberate 24-hour cold maceration of all nine botanicals before distillation, a step most industrial producers skip in favour of vapour infusion.

The botanical bill is fixed: juniper, angelica root, angelica seeds, coriander seed, liquorice root, almonds, orris root, Seville orange peel, and lemon peel. All nine are steeped together in grain neutral spirit before a single copper-pot still distillation, ensuring every botanical integrates rather than layering sequentially. The spirit is bottled at 40% ABV without chill-filtration alteration of the botanical oils.

What sets this expression apart within the London Dry category is the dual-citrus peel combination — Seville orange alongside lemon — which gives the distillate a bitter-bright citrus character uncommon in peers that use only sweet orange. As a non-vintage, continuously produced spirit, character is consistent across batches by design.
