Domaine Trapet's entire identity is built around the 1.85 hectares it tends within Le Chambertin Grand Cru — gravelly marl topsoil over Bajocian limestone subsoil, vines planted as early as 1919 — so when the domaine distils a marc from that same pomace, the raw material carries the full weight of that address. Marc de Bourgogne de Chambertin is produced from the pressed grape solids of Pinot Noir harvested from those Grand Cru parcels, meaning the skins, seeds, and stems that survived Trapet's characteristically high whole-cluster fermentations (up to 80–100% for Grand Crus in practice) are the direct source of this spirit. The 1997 vintage — a warm, early-ripening Côte de Nuits year — yielded pomace of notable aromatic concentration. No production parameters (still type, distillation cut, cask regime, ABV, or aging duration) are disclosed in the brand library, which is itself unusual: Trapet publishes no spirits programme, making this bottling an anomalous, almost private-production release rather than a commercial line. What is certain is that the source material comes from Demeter-certified biodynamic viticulture and from one of Burgundy's most precisely farmed Grand Cru sites. At 500 ml and from a 1997 distillation, this is a collector's curiosity — a terroir document in spirit form from a domaine that otherwise makes only wine.
