Remy Martin 1738 300th Anniversary Gift Box (700 ml)
฿4,099
In 1724, Rémy Martin — a Charente vintner born near Rouillac — founded a cognac trading house that made a single territorial commitment no rival has matched: every eau-de-vie, from entry expression to Louis XIII, drawn exclusively from Grande and Petite Champagne, the two highest-ranked crus. The 1738 Accord Royal, issued here in a 300th anniversary gift box, commemorates the royal privilege granted to the house and sits between VSOP and XO in the range. The soils beneath both crus are deep, permeable chalk — calcareous subsoil that retains moisture through dry summers, sustaining acidity and aromatic concentration in Ugni Blanc that flatter crus cannot replicate. Distillation is conducted on the lees in traditional alembic charentais copper pot stills, a house-wide signature that adds aromatic density most peers sacrifice by racking before the still. Maturation proceeds in French Limousin oak — sourced from trees at least 100 years old, wood seasoned outdoors two to three years — whose large open grain drives vanilla and spice extraction alongside meaningful oxygen exchange. The 1738 expression is unusual in the Rémy Martin range for occupying a deliberate middle register: richer than VSOP yet structured differently from the XO's decade-minimum blend, it targets a rounder, fruit-forward profile anchored in the same Fine Champagne terroir purity that defines the house across all tiers.
