Camus XO Prestige Decanter (700 ml)
฿15,200
When Jean-Baptiste Camus founded the house in 1863, the Borderies — the smallest of Cognac's six crus — was already prized for its clay-limestone soils studded with silex flints, a geology that drives the cru's signature violet florality and rounded texture. Five generations later, Cyril Camus oversees 188 hectares of contiguous Borderies vineyard centred on Château du Plessis, the largest single-producer block in the cru.
The XO Prestige Decanter draws on that estate fruit, distilled sur lies in copper Charentais alembics to build ester complexity and body. During the second distillation, Camus's patented 'Instensity' method — drawing twenty one-litre samples from the heads fraction, identifying the single litre of peak ester concentration, and reintegrating it into the hearts — amplifies aromatic density beyond what terroir alone delivers. Aging runs a minimum 10 years, averaging 12–14 years, in 350 L Limousin oak casks with very light toast; previously used barrels are strongly favoured to keep the Borderies florality forward rather than masked by new wood. No boisé, no added sugar.
What sets this expression apart: the XO Prestige is a multi-cru blend presented in a collector decanter format, sitting alongside Camus's 100% single-estate Borderies XO — making it the house's accessible gateway to the Instensity technique at XO age. Bottled at 40% ABV; small caramel colouring permitted under AOC rules.
