Remy Martin Louis XIII (700 ml)
฿188,999
Louis XIII is a perpetual accumulation of time: each decanter holds approximately 1,200 individual eaux-de-vie, the youngest aged 40 years, the oldest approaching a century — assembled across generations of cellar masters, no single person alive at blending having witnessed the first distillation in the blend. That continuity is the product's defining technical reality. Every component originates exclusively from Grande Champagne, Cognac's innermost and most prized cru, where deep chalky-calcareous subsoils retain moisture through dry summers, sustaining grape acidity and aromatic concentration in Ugni Blanc that shallower soils cannot. Rémy Martin distils on the lees — retaining residual yeast sediment through double distillation in small charentais alembic copper pot stills — a house-wide signature that adds measurable aromatic depth peers who rack before distillation cannot replicate. Maturation proceeds exclusively in French Limousin oak from trees at least 100 years old, wood seasoned outdoors 2–3 years before coopering; the large open grain drives substantial oxygen exchange, building the rancio character and layered spice that define the expression. The oldest parcels are transferred to glass demi-johns to arrest evaporation and preserve the most ancient eaux-de-vie intact. What no peer replicates at this scale: Louis XIII draws from Grande Champagne exclusively — not Fine Champagne blended with Petite — making it the purest single-cru expression in the house's range and among the most terroir-specific cognacs in commercial production.
