Vecchia Romagna Riserva Tre Botti Brandy (700 ml)
฿2,189
Vecchia Romagna has distilled Trebbiano-based brandy in Emilia-Romagna since 1820, making it one of Italy's oldest continuous brandy operations. The Riserva Tre Botti — literally "three casks" — takes its name from a deliberate sequential aging protocol designed to layer complexity that a single wood type cannot achieve alone.
Distillation draws on Trebbiano di Romagna, a high-acid, low-sugar grape grown on the alluvial plains and low hills around Ravenna, where clay-rich soils retain moisture and produce spirit with pronounced fruit character. The Tre Botti aging sequence moves the brandy through Limousin oak (contributing vanilla and tannin structure), then cherry wood (imparting dried-fruit depth and a faintly bitter almond note), and finally Slavonian oak (adding spice and oxidative complexity). This three-wood rotation is uncommon in Italian brandy production, where single-cask aging in Limousin remains the norm.
The Riserva expression is bottled at 38% ABV without chill-filtration, preserving the natural oils that carry the wood-derived aromatic compounds. The result is a brandy with more textural density than the standard Etichetta Nera expression, suited to extended contemplative drinking rather than mixing.
