Taittinger Comtes Rose 2011
฿13,400
Taittinger is one of the last great independent, family-owned Champagne houses, with a history dating back to 1734 when it was founded as Forest-Fourneaux. The modern era began in 1932 when Pierre Taittinger purchased the estate, establishing a legacy defined by elegance and the prominent use of Chardonnay. The Comtes de Champagne Rosé is the house's rarest and most exclusive prestige cuvée, produced only in exceptional years when both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reaches peak maturity. Reflecting a commitment to craftsmanship, the wine is aged for nearly a decade eighteen meters underground in the UNESCO-listed Saint-Nicaise chalk cellars, which date back to Gallo-Roman times, allowing it to develop extraordinary complexity and a legendary status among connoisseurs.
The unique character of Comtes de Champagne Rosé is shaped by its 100% Grand Cru terroir, blending Chardonnay from the prestigious Côte des Blancs with Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. The winemaking philosophy focuses on precision and purity, utilizing only the juice from the first press to ensure structure and long-term aging potential. Approximately 12% of the blend is composed of still red Pinot Noir wine, crafted from a meticulous selection of estate grapes to provide its signature copper-pink hue and delicate tannic structure. This balance of limestone-driven minerality, chalky acidity, and vibrant red fruit expression embodies the Taittinger style—a "sun-drenched yet light" harmony that emphasizes finesse and lightness over power.
