Champagne Taittinger is one of the few remaining family-owned houses, tracing its heritage back to 1734 when it was founded as Forest-Fourneaux. The modern legacy began in 1932 when Pierre Taittinger, a cavalry officer who fell in love with the region during World War I, acquired the house and the historic Chateau de la Marquetterie. Under the leadership of his son François, the house established its signature style centered on the elegance of Chardonnay, eventually establishing its cellars in the 4th-century UNESCO-listed chalk quarries of the Abbey of Saint-Nicaise. After a brief period of outside ownership, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger successfully bought back the house in 2006, ensuring the brand remains under family management today.

The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs represents the pinnacle of Taittinger’s winemaking philosophy, crafted exclusively from 100% Chardonnay sourced from top Grand Cru sites in the Cote des Blancs. This unique terroir, characterized by deep chalky soils and a temperate climate, provides the distinctive minerality and crystalline acidity that define the cuvee. The winemaking process is exceptionally meticulous, utilizing only the juice from the first pressing and aging the wine for 8 to 10 years in the cold, dark silence of the Roman-era crayeres. This extended maturation develops profound complexity and a silky texture, resulting in a prestigious Champagne renowned for its finesse, longevity, and ethereal lightness.
