Champagne 'Cuvee Leonie' Brut (Magnum) (1.5 L) (With package)
฿฿฿
Canard-Duchêne, founded in 1868, built its reputation on the chalky slopes of the Montagne de Reims, where Pinot Noir dominates the subregion's clay-limestone terroir. The house sources grapes from its own vineyard holdings across this north-facing escarpment, where cooler conditions and shallow chalk soils enforce slow ripening and high natural acidity.
Cuvée Léonie is a non-vintage Brut blend built primarily from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel and aged on lees in the house's historic chalk cellars beneath the vineyard. The extended lees contact develops the wine's textural complexity without oak intervention. Dosage remains restrained, typical of the house style.
The magnum format—1.5 liters—slows oxidation and allows the wine to evolve more gracefully over time than standard 750 ml bottles, a deliberate choice for cellaring potential.
Expect a dry, mineral-driven Champagne with the chalky grip and brioche undertones characteristic of Montagne de Reims fruit aged in cool, underground conditions. Drink now through the next 5–7 years.
