Prosecco Treviso Doc Brut (Serenitatis Collection)
฿
Montelvini, founded in 1881 in Venegazzù di Volpago del Montello, sits at the southern foot of the Treviso hills where the Piave River's glacial deposits left deep alluvial soils — sand, silt, and gravel over clay — that drain freely and force Glera vines to dig for water, concentrating aromatic intensity without excess weight.
The Treviso DOC designation covers the broader plains appellation, where lower elevations and a continental microclimate moderated by Alpine air deliver a longer, cooler ripening window than the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene hillsides above. That extra hang time preserves the grape's natural green-apple and white-flower character while building enough sugar for a clean brut fermentation.
Vinification follows the Charmat (Martinotti) method: secondary fermentation takes place in pressurized autoclave tanks rather than bottle, preserving the fresh primary fruit and delicate floral lift that defines the Glera variety. The brut dosage keeps residual sugar low — typically under 12 g/L — a deliberate departure from the extra-dry style that historically dominated Prosecco export markets.
Within the Serenitatis Collection, this Treviso DOC expression is positioned as the terroir-honest, drier anchor of the range — no sweetness buffer, no extra-dry safety net — letting the alluvial site speak without correction.
