The Cattier family has worked the chalky Premier Cru hillsides of Chigny-les-Roses on the Montagne de Reims since 1763 — but it was Jean-Jacques Cattier's 2006 launch of Armand de Brignac that broke the prestige Champagne mould by mandating a strict three-vintage assemblage rather than the conventional dominant-base-year-plus-reserve-pool approach, treating each of the three harvest years as an equal structural pillar.

The Rosé draws fruit from Premier and Grand Cru villages across the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs — cool, north-facing chalk and clay hillsides that drive the high natural acidity and fine bubble structure characteristic of the appellation's best Pinot Noir. The defining move is the addition of 12–18% still red Pinot Noir wine from old vines in Chigny-les-Roses, vinified separately and blended pre-tirage for colour saturation and structural depth — a saignée-adjacent technique rarely deployed at this precision in prestige cuvées.

Grapes are hand-harvested and pressed on traditional vertical Coquard presses, with only the first-fraction tête de cuvée juice selected. Base wines are vinified in concrete tanks to develop textural creaminess. The cuvée ages a minimum three years on lees in the Cattier cellars — among the deepest in Champagne at over 30 metres underground — with hand riddling over approximately one month. The dosage liqueur itself is aged one year in new French oak barrels before addition at 8.5 g/L, imparting toasted brioche and vanilla complexity that no other prestige Rosé in the category replicates at this stage of production. Annual output across all cuvées is capped at roughly 60,000 bottles.
