Nino costa Roero Gepin

Nino Costa is a historic family estate located in the Roero region of Piedmont, where winemaking traditions have been passed down through generations. The winery underwent a significant transformation in 2009 when Alessandro Costa took the reins, redesigning the cellar and modernizing working methods while staying deeply rooted in the classics. Alessandro, who grew up among the vineyards and barrels, views wine as a natural companion to everyday life and a true expression of his personality. The Gepin bottling is a 100% Nebbiolo expression that showcases the unique terroir of the Roero, known for its steep, sandy hills and ancient marine soils. Unlike the heavier clay-based soils of neighboring Barolo, the sand-rich landscape of Roero allows Nebbiolo to develop intense floral aromatics, such as rose and cherry, along with silkily structured tannins and vibrant acidity. This specific microclimate, combined with a commitment to organic principles and meticulous vineyard management, shapes a wine of great elegance and persistent complexity.
