Pelissero Barbaresco Nubiola DOCG
฿2,500
The Pelissero family has been deeply rooted in the Langhe hills since 1957, evolving from grape growers to one of Barbaresco's benchmark producers. Now in its third generation, the estate is led by Giorgio Pelissero, who transformed the family’s artisanal tradition into a world-renowned winery while maintaining a strict focus on indigenous Piedmontese varieties. The Nubiola bottling serves as the estate's classic introduction to the appellation, named after Vitis Nubiola, the 13th-century term for Nebbiolo. This wine is a deliberate homage to historical roots, emphasizing complexity and depth over modern stylistic trends.
The soul of Nubiola lies in its unique terroir, sourced from six distinct estate parcels scattered across the calcareous marl and clay-rich soils of Treiso, Barbaresco, and Neive. By blending fruit from different altitudes and exposures, Pelissero achieves a harmonious balance that captures the broader essence of the region. In the cellar, the philosophy focuses on exalting the Nebbiolo grape through a blend of tradition and innovation. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel before aging for roughly 18 to 20 months in a combination of small French barriques and large 50-hectoliter oak casks. This meticulous vessel rotation ensures the wood frames the wine’s vibrant red fruit and floral character without masking its signature Alpine freshness and structured tannic backbone.
