La Caudrina Barbera Nizza Montevenere DOCG

Hill‑Born Barbera from Nizza At the heart of Piedmont’s Monferrato hills lies the estate of Azienda Agricola Caudrina, where vines planted in 1975 on limestone-rich slopes face south-south-west at around 250 meters altitude.

The cuvée “Montevenere” draws its name from the historic vineyard site in the village of Nizza Monferrato, within the prestigious Nizza DOCG. It is crafted from 100% Barbera and undergoes traditional vinification (8-day maceration, malolactic fermentation at around 23°C) followed by about 9 months in French oak barrels, then further ageing in stainless steel.

In the glass, the wine reflects its terroir: rich ruby with purple glints, aromatic depth from fruit and wood, and a palate that balances power with elegance. It speaks of a producer’s commitment to elevating Barbera beyond everyday status and refining the grape’s expressive potential in one of Piedmont’s most celebrated appellations.
