San Giorgio

Lungarotti's San Giorgio is a classically structured Super Tuscan from Torgiano, Umbria, blending Sangiovese (40%), Canaiolo (10%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (50%). The Cabernet contribution adds depth and tannin stability to the native Sangiovese base, creating a wine of medium-full body with balanced acidity and moderate tannin grip.

On the palate, ripe red cherry and dark plum dominate the primary impression, supported by herbaceous notes characteristic of Sangiovese. Cedar and black pepper emerge in the secondary layer, while subtle earth and dried fruit complexity suggest modest aging potential. The wine's food-friendly profile makes it an excellent match for tomato-based pasta, grilled meats, and Mediterranean cuisine.
