Glenfiddich Cumulative Time Aged 40 Years (700 ml)
฿262,149
William Grant built Glenfiddich's first still by hand in 1886, and the distillery has bottled on-site ever since — one of the very few Speyside operations to control every step from mash to label. That continuity of craft is what makes a 40-year expression possible: 800,000 casks held in stone-walled dunnage warehouses with earthen floors beneath the Conval Hills, where stable humidity and temperature slow the angel's share and preserve the spirit's architecture across four decades.
The Robbie Dhu spring — a mineral-rich highland source whose catchment the Grant family protected by acquiring the surrounding hillside — feeds both fermentation and reduction to bottling strength, threading a consistent mineral signature through every drop. At this age, the predominantly ex-bourbon American white oak base has long since surrendered its primary vanilla and coconut; what remains is the slow oxidative exchange between spirit and wood, concentrated orchard fruit deepening toward dried fig, beeswax, and toasted cereal.
The Cumulative Time designation signals that this expression is assembled from casks whose combined maturation time — not a single fill date — reaches 40 years, a deliberate compositional choice that prioritises flavour depth over vintage purity. All component casks undergo Glenfiddich's mandatory marrying step in large oak tuns before bottling, integrating what individual casks cannot achieve alone. At this tier, no peer in the core Speyside category offers a comparable age statement built on this cumulative architecture.
