Glenfiddich Simultane Time Aged 50 Years (700 ml)
฿2,460,999
William Grant built his distillery by hand in 1886, sourcing water from the Robbie Dhu Spring in the Conval Hills — a catchment so critical to the house character that the Grant family acquired the surrounding land specifically to protect it. The casks that became Simultane Time Aged 50 Years were filled in the 1960s, when Glenfiddich was still a decade away from its 1963 decision to export single malt as a premium category in its own right — meaning this whisky predates the modern single malt era.
Dufftown's valley microclimate and the earthen-floored dunnage warehouses of the Conval Hills base provide the stable, slow-breathing maturation conditions that allow five decades of oak integration without the aggressive extraction that warmer climates would impose. The distillery's distinctively small swan-neck copper pot stills — wash stills of approximately 9,000 L and spirit stills of approximately 4,500 L — produce a characteristically light, orchard-fruit new make that carries the structural delicacy to survive 50 years without collapsing into wood tannin. A mandatory marrying step in large oak tuns precedes bottling, integrating cask variation accumulated across half a century. What separates this from virtually every peer at this age statement is provenance of continuity: distilled, matured, and bottled entirely on-site at Dufftown, with Robbie Dhu spring water used for reduction — the same source as the original mash water, closing a 50-year loop.
