Mackintosh Blended Malt Scotch (750 ml)
฿2,229
Mackintosh takes its name from the historic Scottish clan whose territory stretched across the Speyside heartland, a provenance the brand anchors in its sourcing philosophy: every drop in the bottle is single malt spirit, with no grain whisky permitted in the blend. That distinction — blended malt rather than blended Scotch — places it in a smaller, more demanding category where the blender cannot lean on lighter grain spirit to smooth rough edges.
Speyside's geography does much of the work: the region's sheltered river valleys, relatively mild climate, and soft, low-mineral water drawn from granite-filtered Highland streams encourage distilleries here to produce spirit that leans toward fruit and cereal sweetness rather than coastal salinity or heavy peat. The resulting malt character is the raw material Mackintosh assembles.
The expression is bottled without age statement, allowing the blender flexibility to draw on casks at optimal maturity. Maturation relies on ex-bourbon and ex-sherry cask influence, the combination typical of Speyside-focused blended malts targeting approachable sweetness with dried-fruit depth. Peat is absent or at trace level, consistent with the region's unpeated house style.
At this price tier, the no-grain-whisky commitment is the defining commercial and qualitative statement — drinkers receive 100% malt complexity without the blended Scotch premium.
