The blend draws from Diageo's pan-Scotland network — Cardhu (Speyside) supplying honeyed, orchard-fruit sweetness as the structural heart; Clynelish (Highland) adding waxy, coastal depth that two decades in oak amplifies into something closer to beeswax and dried citrus peel; and Caol Ila (Islay) threading clean maritime peat smoke through the base. Maturation proceeds in ex-bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry European oak casks, with the extended 21-year contact pulling the grain component — distilled in continuous column stills — toward a silkier, more integrated texture than younger expressions allow.
