Johnnie Walker
John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend Limited Edition (750 ml)
฿2,499
When John Walker opened his Kilmarnock grocery in 1820, he applied tea-merchant logic to whisky: blend across regions and seasons to eliminate batch variation — a direct transgression against the single-malt orthodoxy of his era. That founding principle underpins this Celebratory Blend, a limited-edition expression assembled by master blender Dr. Emma Walker (the first woman to hold the role in the brand's 200-year history) from a reserve of approximately 10 million casks spanning Speyside, Highland, Islay, and Lowland distilleries.
The blend's architecture draws on the house's three structural pillars: Cardhu (Speyside) on honeyed, fruit-forward sweetness; Caol Ila (Islay) for clean maritime peat; and Clynelish (Highland) for waxy coastal depth — a cross-regional combination structurally impossible for any single-distillery producer to replicate. Malt components are double-distilled in copper pot stills; grain whiskies are produced via continuous Coffey column stills from wheat or maize. Maturation draws on ex-bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry European oak casks, with the precise split undisclosed. The expression is chill-filtered and bottled at standard strength. What distinguishes this release within the Johnnie Walker tier is its limited-edition status — a batch-specific departure from the deliberately non-vintage, consistency-first philosophy that governs the core range.
