Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Port Ellen (750 ml)
฿10,999
Port Ellen distillery on Islay's southern shore was permanently mothballed by Diageo in 1983, making any whisky carrying its spirit a finite, non-renewable resource. The Blue Label Ghost & Rare Port Ellen edition is one of the only commercially available expressions built around this lost distillery's output, positioned within Johnnie Walker's most selective tier — where only 1 in 10,000 casks across Diageo's reserve of approximately 10 million barrels qualifies for inclusion. Port Ellen's coastal Islay character — briny, medicinal peat drawn from the island's sea-level malting floors — anchors the blend's smoke architecture in a way no active distillery can replicate. That foundation is layered against the house's structural pillars: Cardhu (Speyside) for honeyed fruit-forward sweetness, Clynelish (Highland) for waxy coastal depth, and Caol Ila (Islay) for clean maritime peat — a pan-Scotland architecture no single-region producer can assemble. The blend is bottled at 40% ABV, chill-filtered, and carries no age statement, as the recipe is batch-specific rather than vintage-dated. What separates this expression categorically from standard Blue Label is the deliberate inclusion of whisky from a distillery that will never produce again — each bottle draws down an irreplaceable stock, making the Ghost & Rare series as much an archival act as a luxury one.
