John Walker & Sons King George V 80th Limited Edition (700 ml)
฿23,209
John Walker opened his Kilmarnock grocery and spirits shop in 1820, applying tea-merchant logic to whisky: blend across regions and seasons to eliminate batch variation. Two centuries on, the King George V expression — now marking its 80th anniversary in this limited edition — sits at the apex of that philosophy, drawing on hand-selected rare casks from Diageo's pan-Scotland network spanning Cardhu (Speyside), Caol Ila (Islay), Clynelish (Highland), and Glenkinchie (Lowland).
No single terroir defines this whisky — that is precisely the point. Cardhu's Speyside honeyed sweetness, Caol Ila's clean maritime peat from the Islay coast, and Clynelish's waxy, saline Highland depth are threaded together by master blenders working from a reserve of approximately 10 million casks. The King George V designation historically signals access to whiskies unavailable in the standard range, including parcels from distilleries no longer in operation.
What separates this expression within the John Walker & Sons luxury tier is its commemorative batch specificity: unlike the perpetually non-vintage core range engineered for absolute consistency, this 80th-anniversary release is a fixed, unrepeatable blend composition — once the allocated casks are exhausted, the recipe cannot be reconstructed. Bottled at the John Walker & Sons tier standard, it is chill-filtered and presented at reduced strength.
