When SPI Group designated a single named plot — the Raduga farm within their Black Earth (Chernozem) holdings outside Tambov — as the exclusive grain source for Elit, they made a deliberate single-origin commitment unusual in commercial vodka. That Tambov terroir, deep fertile chernozem soil at roughly 150–200 m elevation, produces winter wheat with a starch density that survives the five-column continuous rectification system and still registers as cereal character in the glass.

At Talvis Distillery, the mash column operates under vacuum at 60°C, passing vapour through a copper cartridge for sulphur removal before rectification to 96.3% ABV. The spirit is then tanker-trained 850 miles to Latvijas Balzams, Riga — a facility drawing water from two 200-metre artesian wells, reverse-osmosis treated to strip iron and magnesium — where it is blended, rested in 250,000-litre tanks, and filtered four times: quartz sand, Russian birch charcoal, woven cloth, final polish. Elit's defining step follows: freeze filtration at exactly −18°C, removing residual fatty acids that would otherwise cloud the spirit at low temperature, with only 1.2 g/L sugar added post-filtration — measurably less than the standard Premium's 1.8 g/L.

The Night Edition 1.75 L format amplifies the single-origin, freeze-filtered proposition at scale. The narrow distillation cut — discarding everything below 67.2°C and above 79.0°C — preserves a faint toasty wheat backbone and a clean peppery rye-adjacent finish that full-neutrality vodkas deliberately erase.
