Guachimonton Anejo (750 ml)
฿฿฿฿
The Guachimontón expression takes its name from the circular pyramid complex in the Teuchitlán highlands of Jalisco, a region where agave cultivation predates the Spanish colonial era by centuries. 1800 Tequila designates this as a single-estate release, drawing blue Weber agave from the volcanic red clay soils surrounding that highland site — terrain that concentrates mineral intensity and slows agave maturation, producing piñas with denser sugar profiles than lowland Jalisco fields. The añejo is aged in American oak barrels, a regime that imparts vanilla and dried-fruit character while the volcanic-mineral backbone of the agave pushes through. What separates this expression from the standard 1800 Añejo is the provenance lock: agave sourced exclusively from the Guachimontón subregion rather than blended across the broader Los Altos or valley appellations. The result is a geographically traceable añejo in a category where single-estate declarations remain uncommon among large commercial producers. Drink now through the next three to four years; the oak integration is already well-advanced and further cellaring offers limited upside.
