Suntory Prucia Plum Liquer de France (720 ml)
฿2,200
Suntory — the Osaka house founded by Shinjirō Torii in 1899 and the force that introduced Japanese whisky to the world — has long operated outside categorical orthodoxy. Prucia extends that instinct into liqueur: a Japanese-style plum liqueur produced in France, marrying the ume-liqueur tradition of Japan with a French fruit eau-de-vie base and French plums, rather than the domestic Japanese ume fruit used in conventional umeshu. The result sits in a category of one — neither a standard umeshu nor a European plum brandy, but a deliberate hybrid that Suntory engineered to carry the aromatic profile of ripe plum with the structural lift of a French spirit foundation. Bottled at a moderate ABV suited to aperitif and digestif service, Prucia is produced under Suntory's liqueur operations, which now include the Osaka Spirits & Liqueurs Craft Distillery (opened 2024–2025). The liqueur's special feature is its Franco-Japanese production logic: French plums and a French base spirit are processed under Japanese quality protocols, producing a sweetness calibration and aromatic clarity that diverges sharply from both European mirabelle liqueurs and traditional Japanese umeshu. No age statement applies; the expression is non-vintage and designed for consistent house style across releases.
