Kitaoka Honten
Japanese Crafts Fruit Cocktails Base Lemon Sour (720 ml)
฿1,600
Kitaoka Honten has operated from the entrance of Yoshino-Kumano National Park since 1868, when the seventh-generation head Sojuro consolidated four centuries of family commerce into sake brewing alone — a discipline that now extends to botanically-driven liqueurs using the same Oku-Yoshino forest water (奥吉野の森林水) that defines the brewery's sake character. That water, drawn from mountain streams threading through UNESCO-listed cedar forest, is notably low in iron with a soft, balanced mineral profile, and it carries the same gentle texture into this lemon sour base.
The Japanese Crafts Fruit Cocktails Base series applies Kitaoka's botanical infusion method — the same framework used for their sakura blossom and red shiso liqueurs — to a lemon sour format designed as a ready-to-dilute cocktail foundation. Fruit juice and sugar syrup are combined with the house alcohol base, yielding a product calibrated for direct mixing with shochu, soda, or spirits rather than standalone sipping. The brewery's liqueur range sits within a production philosophy that treats botanical precision, not sweetness volume, as the primary variable.
What distinguishes this expression within the category is its origin inside a working sake brewery: the water source, the infusion discipline, and the house palate are all shaped by seishu production logic — an unusual technical lineage for a fruit cocktail base. As an NV product, it is intended for immediate use upon opening.
